Anthony Lee

Piano teacher since 2022


Korean-American pianist Anthony Lee was awarded the grand prize at the 2018 Chicago International Music Competition, which launched his career with upcoming performances and a recording contract with A Life of Music Records. Lee was awarded a Fulbright grant for the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary in 2021 to conduct research on the history of the Academy and its rich lineage of Hungarian musicians. During the residency, Lee engaged in masterclasses and interviews with professors of the Academy alongside his performance activities. Additionally, Anthony has engaged in masterclasses with Robert McDonald, Martin Canin, John Perry, André Laplante, Alexander Korsantia, Jonathan Biss, Hie-Yon Choi, and Alexander Braginsky. As an organizer, Lee founded the Cary Classical Concerts in January of 2017 and was featured in many of the concerts. Through these concerts, Anthony performed solo and chamber music with guest artists, also speaking to the audience through the themed programs. On radio, he was featured in My Life in Music on WCPE, the classical radio station of North Carolina. Lee holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music, the University of Michigan, and Interlochen Arts
Academy. He completed his DMA studies at the University of Kansas under Steven Spooner.
