Carmen Ramsey
Piano, trumpet, trombone, flute, clarinet teacher since August 2019


Carmen has played piano since the age of five and loves to share her passion for music with students of all ages. She has performed for community events, recitals, musicals, weddings, memorial services, and church services for over 15 years. Carmen graduated from the Honors College at Western Carolina University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. For the past seven years, Carmen has taught and directed bands for Guilford County Schools and Rockingham County Schools where she enjoyed teaching woodwinds, brass, and percussion to hundreds of beginning band students. She began playing the trumpet at age 11, later attending college to perform with WCU’s Pride of the Mountains Marching Band at Bands of America Grand National Championships in Indianapolis, IN and the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California. Carmen has also played concert percussion in the Greensboro Philharmonia and the Rockingham County Community Band.

Carmen believes that every student is unique and deserves individualized instruction. Her teaching focuses on helping students grow through technique and musicianship.
