Katherine Traver
Teaching piano since 2016
Katherine attended the University of North Carolina at Pembroke where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Music Education with emphasis on piano. She has over twenty years of teaching experience that include instructing elementary music classes as well as group and private piano lessons. She is currently
employed at a Raleigh preschool where she has been teaching the Music and Movement program for children ages two to five years.
Katherine began piano lessons at age seven and her love of music grew as she did. During her high school years she played clarinet for both the performance and marching band. She was also involved with the Jazz band where she played the keyboard. During her time at UNC-P, Katherine performed with the choir and played marimba
and bells for the orchestra.
Katherine enjoys the one on one quality time that comes with teaching private lessons. She feels you get to know the students as individuals and on a more personal level. Nothing is more rewarding than to watch a student learn and grow!
