Kirsten Wray
Flute and piano teacher since August 2019
My name is Kirsten Wray. I grew up here in North Carolina and graduated from Apex High School. I
enjoyed taking piano lessons and playing flute in the band. I attended East Carolina University where I
received a Bachelor of Music in Music Education. I was principle flute of the ECU Concert Band and the
ECU Symphonic Wind Ensemble. I was 2 nd flute in the ECU Symphony Orchestra. I spent twenty years as
a band director teaching grades 4 – 12. I had several jazz bands, pep bands at basketball games, and
was the instrumental director for the musicals. I also enjoyed teaching music appreciation to 10 th grade
and playing piano for several choral groups. Music is my passion, and I love helping students explore
their love of music.
