Jessy Williams

Piano teacher since 2022

Jessy has loved music from as far back as she can remember.  Initially, this love began with singing, as a very young child.  She started piano lessons at only 4 years old, and it quickly became one of the supreme loves of her life.  By the 4th grade, Jessy added in clarinet and cello to her musical studies.  During grade school, she was always involved in the band program, as well as her church’s choir and orchestra.  At the age of 12, she started accompanying church services on the piano, and this began a long journey of professional accompanying in the Portland metro area.  In college, she received scholarships for accompanying the choirs, as well as playing for various campus events when there was a need for piano music.  She graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education (Zumma Cum Laude) from Seattle Pacific University, in June of 2015.  During her time at SPU, before even graduating, Jessy was hired by the Norwegian Ladies Chorus of Seattle to be their choir director, and shortly after, she was hired during her student teaching internship to be that school’s piano accompanist.  She worked as a private piano lesson instructor for one of the top private schools in Washington State- Holy Names Academy.  After two years working in that capacity, she was appointed Director of Choral Music, a position she held for 5 years before relocating to North Carolina.  During her time at the academy, Jessy directed three different choirs, and she was also the Musical Director for all of their spring musical productions.  Previous shows include: Emma! A Pop Musical, Once On This Island, and Mamma Mia! Jessy is thrilled to be teaching private lessons again and looks forward to fostering a love of her favorite instrument in each of her students.
